Day 2 at the 2013 North Pointe Junior Gold Championships
On Saturday, we started the morning with a two hour Lane Play seminar by Mark Baker at Sunnybrook Lanes. 150 youth bowlers got the chance to get some extra help on shooting their spares before the Junior Gold Qualifying begins. Mark did a quick presentation, and then we put the bowlers on the lanes where they could work with our coaching staff. We had Dino Castillo, Jason Couch, Ed Gallagher, Amleto Monacelli, Stefanie Nation, and quite a few others helping the Jr Gold bowlers.
Then it was off to the exhibit area at Junior Gold Check-In. Somerset Inn was the location, and the layout was great. We had our pro staff available to talk with the youth bowlers, and that was a great hit out of the park. Amleto was very popular (especially with the Moms). You could feel the energy from the bowlers as they did their check-in, took their Jr Gold picture, checked out the USBC store, visited the collegiate experience area, and visited us in the exhibit area. Over 2000 youth bowlers and their entourages came through Somerset Inn. What an amazing site.
The day was definitely packed with a lot of things for the bowlers to do. Some of the youth bowlers went off to bowl the USBC Youth Championships and then there were the first three practice squads later in the day.
