Ebonite Legacy takes TJ to the winnerís circle in Saudi Arabia
December 16, 2013 –Tommy Jones used his Ebonite Legacy ball to win back-to-back victories over Hong Kong’s Michael Mak en route to the 7th Kingdom International Open title at Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday. The win was Jones’ third career World Bowling Tour title and his 15th PBA title.
A Team USA member and former WTBA World Champion, Jones rallied from 11 pins down with six-consecutive strikes to post a 247-218 win the first game. Needing to beat top-seeded Mak for a second time to claim the title, Jones bowled a 268 in the final game to win by 10 pins and claim the $25,000 top prize.
Jones joined forces with Ebonite in 2000, his first year on the PBA Tour. With Ebonite in his corner, “TJ” has cashed in on more than $1.3 million in winnings on the Tour and claimed two majors.
The Legacy, which Jones rolled to victory in Saudi Arabia, is the next generation of the Total NV, one of the best-selling Ebonite balls of all time. The Legacy features the Spike Symmetric Mass Bias Core and the new XL2010 Hybrid cover. The ball is designed to open up the lane, handle friction down lane and recover very strong in the back end.
