PATRICIA LUOTO WINS COLUMBIA 300 VIENNA OPEN WITH EBONITE NVD BALL

HOPKINSVILLE, Kent.—Patricia Luoto, a member of the German national team, won the Sixth Annual Columbia 300 Vienna Open on October 5. By defeating Martin Paulsson, 224-201, Luoto became the first woman in the six-year history of the event to take the title. Luoto threw an Ebonite NVD and Columbia 300 Blue Dot while Paulsson, of Sweden, threw a Momentum Swing.

Patricia is the wife of former World Champion, Mika Luoto, and is now in bowling’s record books as the tenth women to win a European Bowling Tour (EBT) event. Not only did she take home 6.000 Euro, she also earned 100 points for the win as the Columbia 300 Vienna Open is a Majors title.

Luoto and Paulsson eliminated Pascal Winterheimer and Lars Tangermann to arrive in the final match of this event that drew 278 players from 26 countries for a total prize fund equivalent to $90,000 US (65.630 Euro). The Columbia 300 Vienna Open is the 14th stop of the 2008 EBT.
